Q. How many years of guitar tuition is needed?
It's hard to say and its different for every individual, some students continue with lessons for years because they are hungry to learn more and enjoy coming, however in experience for the average person, if you are starting from scratch to get to a confident point I would say anything from 6 months to a year and a half.
Q. How does private tuition speed up your progress?
Private guitar tuition in my personal experience from teaching and being a guitar student when I was younger definitely helps speed up the learning process. There is only so far you can get with learning on your own and online, sometimes that extra guidance is all you need to get to where you want to be.
